Unable to add / configure Folder Providers (Folder Types) in Evoq 9.1+

Description

How to add / configure Folder Providers (Folder Types) in Evoq 9.1?

The 'Digital Assets' module was removed, and no suitable administrative option was added to support this feature?

Users can still utilize the old DAM module if this is a need in the Platform. In the commercial versions (Evoq) this is possible in the Assets section of the persona bar and through Connectors.

In Evot 9.1 I don't see how to add a new connector.(i.e. folder type).
I've installed DNNGlobalStorage, and I'm unable to add let's say a Google Drive folder type.(or any other folder type supported by DNNGlobalStorage)

How can this be solved?

MultiConnectors.png show how to configure the folder providers buit-in into Evoq. I don't see how to configure 3rd party providers, as it has been until now in any DNN version (free or paid).
How to configure the s3 provider included in DNNGlobalStorage? How to configure FTP, Google Drive, SharePoint, etc? (the providers installed by DNNGlobalStorage)
Thanks

I added the pic and was going to explain but I don't have enough time to do a full walkthrough right now so I added another pic and summarized below.

  • We built a series of 'connectors' in Evoq that allow you to change the settings (third-party developers can also do this); these are an EvoqConnector extension type and are basically html/js and webAPI methods

    • Once you map/connect, in Assets section of persona bar you get an option to specific folder type (just like DAM) and any connected folder types are available for selection here

  • Users can still utilize the DAM module in 9.1+ to do folder mapping (in any product)

    • If it was a clean install of 9.1 or later, they will need to install Telerik and then DAM to access this

  • So, users need to install DAM + Telerik just to be able to access the Folder Mappings UI? That's weird..

  • What will happen in DNN Core once you remove the DAM same as you did in Evoq? Will there be a replacement for handling folder providers? (There isn't any in Evoq 9.1+). Will one be implemented in Evoq > 9.1? Or users will have to install the legacy DAM+Telerik just to be able to configure folder providers?

  • Will Evoq Connector extensions type be available also in the next DNN Core version?

  • Is there any documentation about how to implement them?

  • Is there any documentation about the present and future of "Folder Providers" and "Evoq Connectors" in any version (free or paid) of DNN?

  • Is the <folder defaultProvider="StandardFolderProvider"> <providers> web.config section still the way to go?

  • New <folder><providers> entries there are ignored by Evoq, unless an "Evoq Connector extension" is created? So are "folder providers" obsolete?

  • Are "folder mappings" a legacy / discontinued feature? Is there any documentation about this? Should I replace "folder mappings" in DNNGlobalStorage with "Evoq Connectors"?
