Brief Description of Issue:
My site has been through a number of upgrades finally arriving at 6.01.02. There are modules that I can see in the Host | Extensions menu, but the Modules menu will not offer them to me to place on a page. They are not premium modules.
Two of them are standard (View Profile and Messaging)
One other is freshly created from a DNN manifest. I am trying to use Steve Fabian's module development template. The module builds clean; the manifest installs clean; it appears in Host | Extensions; it does NOT appear in the dropdown list of modules permitted to add to a page.
Clear Steps to Reproduce:
1.I cannot give steps to reproduce, In a fresh install of DNN6, on the same computer the module does appear and may be added to a page.
I will happily provide a copy of the database.
2.
Actual Result:
1.
2.
Expected Result:
1.I expected the system to offer me the installed module to place on a page.

I can see that in the fresh install site that works there is a row in PortalDesktopModules that looks like it links the module (via the DesktopModuleID to the portal. There is no such row in the old upgraded site that will not show me the module. Is there somthing I need to do to make a module available to a specific portal? Can I do it in the UI? Why is it happening in one site and not the other? I have no idea if this is relevant, but I noticed that in the fresh install in Host | Host Settings on the basic settings tab there is a Host Portal configured. In the upgraded site that does not work there is no Host Portal configured and the Drop Down is empty
It looks like there is an issue left from the upgrade(s). This site goes back quite a long way.
The upgraded site has no entries in PortalDesktopModules for the modules ViewProfile, Sitemap, Content List, etc. I think all these were new in V6.
These missing entries probably also explain my other question about missing user profile - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Community-Exchange/view/question/id/279.aspx
Is there any script that will check for these missing entries? Are there any known issues in the upgrade logic? I guess there is somthing unique about my database otherwise others would be complainign about this. I am usually pretty anal about making sure that upgrades run clean and I do not run random scripts against my database.
